The Revitalization of my Life-Day 56 -The Dog Effect

Today, I woke up with an interesting thought on my mind. I have had this thought for quite some time now, but today I finally decided to write about it. Well, it's about a dog. To be more specific my dog. Everyday when I come home, my dog greets me at the door. He sniffs me to see where I've been and then he runs around because he is so excited to see me. No matter what I did to him the night before, he always greets me at the door.

I think this is how we should be about the people that we truly love, especially those that we live with. We should be excited to see them everyday, even if they did something to hurt us. Instead of doing this, we want to try to make things more complicated than they already are. We want to hold grudges and wait for the other person to take actions in order to make things right. Why wait for someone else to take action when you can take it yourself? You wouldn't wait for someone to tell you to go and get a million dollars if you knew you could get it on your own. Now I will be the first to admit that I am one of these people that I am talking about. I am not ashamed to admit to my faults because I want to become as faultless as I can possibly be. They say admitting is the first step to getting over something. I don't know if this is true, but I will damn sho' try it if it will make life for me and my wife better.

Women for years have called men dogs for the way that they act, but I think it's time to turn that description around. When they speak of comparing a man to a dog from now on, they should be referring to the greeting that a dog gives its owner. They should enjoy calling a man a dog because there is no love and affection like a dogs love and affection, simple because you know without a shadow of a doubt that it's genuine. Give "the dog effect" a try.
